Facts About Quran

FACTS ABOUT QURAN  Allah has safeguarded the verses of Quran from pollution by making it easy to be read and memorized. Today, it is the only book which is memorized, word by word, by millions of Muslims. Allah explains this quality of Quran in following verses, “And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?” There are countless facts about the Quran and its revelation some of which are shared over here: The literal meaning of Quran is “that which is being read”. Quran has some other names too, which are: Al-Huda (The Guidance), Al-Dhikr (The Reminder), Al-Furqan (The Criterion-for judging right from wrong), Al-Shifa (The Healing), Al-Mau`iza (The Admonition), Al-Rahmah (The Mercy), Al-Nur (The Light), Al-Haqq (The Truth), and Al-Burhaan (The Clear Argument). Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Jibril. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was 40 years old when the first verse of Quran was revea...

7 Behaviors People Who Were Unloved As Children Display In Their Adult Lives

7 Behaviors People Who Were Unloved As Children Display In Their Adult Lives Beyond having their physical needs for food, water, shelter, and hygiene met, young children also need plenty of emotional and cognitive support, love, and nurturing. Adult caregivers should make it a point to express love and affection for their children every day.”  ~ Angela Oswalt, MSW, Natalie Statts-Reiss, Ph.D., and Mark Dombeck, Ph.D. The child’s brain Early childhood years are a period of rapid change in the brain. Early and middle childhood years are when the brain forms complex network connections at the fastest rate. The forming of the brain’s neurons – a process known as  myelination  – is  80% complete by age four . In other words, the future adult’s brain is eight-tenths complete. According to many scientists, the human subconscious dictates about 95 percent of our behavior. When does this “subconscious programming” take place? From birth to six years. ...

Zee AJ Official -The Surprising Benefits of Fasting

Fasting has been practiced for thousands of years.  The great Eastern religions—Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism– have long maintained that fasting is beneficial for the body and the soul. However, its bodily benefits have not been recognized in the west until the early 1900s when doctors started recommending it for the treatment of various illnesses, such as obesity and diabetes.  New research now provides new support to this age-old healing practice. 1. Weight Loss Fasting, if done properly, can actually aid in weight loss.  Research indicates that intermittent fasting, which includes everything from eating 500 calories or less two days each week to skipping breakfast or lunch on certain days of the week, allows the body to burn fat more effectively than regular fasting.  This is because intermittent fasting allows the body to use fat as its main source of energy rather than sugar. 2. Protection against degenerative diseases Research...

Which Should You Do First, Cardio or Weights? Here's What Fitness Trainers Say

Which Should You Do First, Cardio or Weights? Here's What Fitness Trainers Say My workouts have basically been the same since I started going to the gym in high school: I do  cardio for about 30 minutes , then I  hit the weight room  for 30 minutes. In college, that was bumped up to an hour of cardio followed by an hour of lifting (which was not very healthy, and I do not recommend it!), but my timing was always the same: cardio first, strength training after. Ever since  I started going to Orangetheory Fitness  a couple of years ago, I've kept the format the same: I always do the treadmill portion first, which is about 30 minutes, then I'll do the weights (another 30 minutes). My thinking goes that I'll get the most taxing (and sometimes boring) portion of the workout, cardio, out of the way so I can focus on lifting. Plus, the cardio gets my heart rate up to crush the weight room. Turns out I've been working out all wrong for the past 15-plu...

5 Things That Make Your Brain Age Faster, According to Science

5 Things That Make Your Brain Age Faster, According to Science While aging is an inevitable part of life, we try, as much as possible, to hide the signs of growing old. When the first strand of white hair appears or when skin starts getting wrinkly, it’s natural to be concerned about finding solutions to slow down these markers of aging. But have you ever wondered about the habits that could make your  brain  age faster? Have you thought about the health of your brain now that you feel age creeping in? This must have happened to you a couple of times before: you enter a room in your house but you can’t remember why you went there. Or you’re having an animated conversation with a friend about a movie and your mind pauses to recall the name of an actor.  Memory lapses are inevitably part of growing older, but you can still do some things to help slow down the aging of your brain. So let’s find out some things that make your brain age faster. Thankful...
